Artist Statement

I have always been fascinated by the impact of human evolution on our planet and the changes in our environment. Witnessing the destruction caused by our actions can be overwhelming. However, my personal studies in biological technology have given me a glimmer of hope. I have discovered that the organisms in our environment can be harnessed to restore our world.

Whether observing life forms under a microscope, walking outside, or foraging, I find solace in appreciating the unique organisms and their place in our ecosystem.

What inspires me the most is the resilience and adaptability of nature. By working with nature, we can create a better world. My artwork reflects this hope for a better future. The colors I use in my artwork are inspired by the strange organisms I study, and the movement of the abstracted forms represents the peculiar biology or functionality of these organisms. For me, creating art is an experience that is like discovering something new in nature. The excitement of uncovering a hidden world underneath a rock and the endless possibilities in art are similar feelings. My work explores the human experience, discovery, and connection with nature. I draw inspiration from artists who incorporate naturalistic elements or the female presence, such as Marilee Salvatore and Ruth Asawa. Overall, my artwork can serve as a reminder of the beauty and resilience of nature and inspire others to cherish and protect our planet.
